Yesterday was Halloween, a day associated with celebration, remembrance, costumes, and perhaps a little too much candy. Yet beneath the festivities lies an older symbolism: the recognition of thresholds, endings, and the mysteries of transformation. We’re also entering a season when the days grow shorter in the Northern Hemisphere, and nature begins its gradual retreat into stillness. The outward world reminds us that there is a time for growth and expansion, and there’s a time for turning inward.
Nature does not resist these cycles. Trees release their leaves, gardens surrender their blossoms, and the earth enters a period of rest. Nothing about this process suggests failure or loss of purpose. Rather, it’s part of an intelligent cycle of renewal. What appears to be an ending is often a necessary preparation for what comes next.
We understand intellectually that endings make new beginnings possible. Yet knowing this and living it are two very different things. Letting go can be one of the most challenging experiences of being human. We may struggle to release relationships, familiar lifestyles, long-held beliefs, expectations, identities, or even versions of ourselves that once provided comfort and a sense of security. Sometimes we hold on not because something continues to nourish us, but because its familiarity makes it difficult to imagine life without it.
There’s another kind of letting go that may be even more important: releasing the thoughts and beliefs that keep us from becoming who we’re capable of being.
I have a phrase I use when I catch myself – or someone else – thinking or speaking from a wounded, distorted, or unhelpful perspective. I call it “stink’n think’n.” It may sound funny, but I use it with a serious intention: to interrupt a thought pattern that doesn’t serve who I am today. It’s my way of saying, Stop! Is this really what I believe, or am I allowing an old wound, fear, insecurity, or assumption to speak for me?
We all engage in stink’n think’n from time to time. We judge ourselves harshly, assume we know what another person is thinking, revisit old grievances, anticipate the worst, or convince ourselves that we are somehow not enough. We may tell ourselves that we cannot change, that we are victims of our circumstances, or that someone else’s behavior determines our worth. Sometimes we recognize these thoughts but continue entertaining them. At other times, they have become so familiar that we no longer recognize them as beliefs; we simply accept them as truth.
This is where awareness becomes transformative.
I find that naming a thought pattern is important. Once we identify it, we can step back and examine it rather than automatically accepting it. We can ask: Where did this thought originate? Is it based on what is actually happening, or is it a conclusion I formed through an earlier experience? Does it reflect who I am becoming, or does it keep me attached to who I once needed to be?
There’s a significant difference between having a thought and identifying ourselves with that thought. We are not every fear that crosses our mind, every judgment we make, or every story we have told ourselves about our lives. We have the capacity to observe our thoughts, question their validity, and choose whether they deserve our continued attention.
From the perspective of the soul, this is an essential part of our evolution. The personality carries our experiences, memories, conditioning, and protective responses. It develops ways of navigating the world, some of which serve us well and others that eventually become limitations. The soul, however, continually invites us toward greater awareness, compassion, wisdom, and a more inclusive understanding of life. Our task is not to reject the personality, but to bring it into greater alignment with the deeper wisdom of the soul.
This requires honesty. Sometimes we must acknowledge that a belief we have defended for years is no longer true for us. We may need to recognize that a familiar reaction is rooted in fear rather than strength, or that what we have called independence is actually an unwillingness to be vulnerable. We may discover that what we have called loyalty is an attachment to something that has ceased to support our growth.
Such realizations are not reasons to criticize ourselves. They’re opportunities to become more conscious.
Letting go does not mean denying our past, forgetting what has happened, or pretending that painful experiences did not matter. It means recognizing that our past can inform us without defining us. We can honor what we have experienced while choosing not to carry every hurt, belief, and expectation into the future. We can learn from what was without remaining bound to it.
Perhaps the most important question is not simply, What do I need to let go of? but rather, What am I making room for?
When we release the need to be right, we make room for understanding. When we release resentment, we make room for freedom. When we release the expectation that others must behave according to our wishes, we make room for acceptance. When we release limiting beliefs about ourselves, we make room for possibilities we may not have previously imagined.
And when we interrupt our stink’n think’n, we make room for a more conscious response – one that reflects the wisdom we’ve gained rather than the wounds we have carried.
The changing seasons remind us that life moves in cycles. There are times when we are called to act, create, and express ourselves outwardly. There are other times when we are called to become still, reflect, and examine what is taking shape within us. Both are necessary. We cannot continually add to our lives without occasionally asking what no longer belongs.
Perhaps turning inward is not a retreat from life, but a deeper way of participating in it. In the quiet, we can hear what the noise of daily living often obscures. We can recognize where we’ve been operating on autopilot and rediscover the freedom that comes from choosing consciously.
Transformation rarely happens all at once. More often, it unfolds through small moments of recognition, followed by the willingness to make a different choice. Each time we question a limiting belief, respond with compassion instead of judgment, or release an expectation that no longer serves us, we take another step toward living from the soul.
As you move through your own seasons of change, consider this: What are you holding on to simply because it is familiar? What thoughts, beliefs, or patterns are ready to be released? And who might you become if you gave yourself permission to let them go?
You don’t have to wait for a new season, a new year, or a major life event to begin again. Every moment offers an opportunity to become more conscious. Sometimes the greatest transformation begins with something as simple as recognizing your own stink’n think’n – and choosing not to believe it.

Astrological Energy of the week: November 1–7, 2026
This week invites us to examine the relationship between who we have been and who we are becoming. Several planetary influences bring our attention to relationships, personal values, emotional patterns, and the courage required to move beyond familiar ways of being. With Venus retrograde in Libra, we’re being given an opportunity to reconsider what we value, how we relate to others, and whether our relationships reflect the person we are evolving into.
From an Evolutionary Astrology perspective, these planetary movements can be understood as invitations to recognize patterns that no longer serve our growth. Esoteric Philosophy reminds us that our experiences aren’t simply events to react to; they are opportunities for consciousness to expand. The soul continually seeks to bring our thoughts, feelings, and actions into greater alignment with a deeper understanding of who we are.
Sunday, November 1: Emotional Awareness and the Courage to Change
The week opens with the Moon in Leo, forming several significant aspects that set the emotional tone for the days ahead. The Moon trine Neptune and Saturn in Aries brings together intuition, inspiration, and personal responsibility. Neptune encourages us to listen to our inner guidance and imagine new possibilities, while Saturn reminds us that meaningful change requires discipline and commitment. Together, these influences can help us turn inspiration into something tangible.
The Moon’s opposition to Pluto in Aquarius may bring underlying emotional tensions or power struggles to the surface. We may become more aware of where we are holding on too tightly, seeking control, or allowing the expectations of others to influence our choices. Pluto’s influence encourages us to examine what lies beneath our reactions so that we can release patterns that prevent authentic self-expression.
Meanwhile, the Moon’s sextile to Uranus in Gemini offers opportunities for fresh perspectives and unexpected insights. A conversation, new idea, or change in circumstances may help us see a situation differently. Be open to possibilities that challenge your usual way of thinking.
Venus retrograde in Libra forms a trine to the North Node in Aquarius and a sextile to the South Node in Leo. Venus retrograde asks us to reconsider our relationships, values, and understanding of love. The North Node represents the direction of growth, while the South Node symbolizes familiar patterns and tendencies from the past. These connections suggest that our relationships can become important teachers, helping us move beyond the need for personal recognition or validation and toward more authentic, equitable, and inclusive ways of relating.
The Last Quarter Moon occurs in Leo, with the Moon squaring the Sun in Scorpio. This lunar phase marks a turning point in the monthly cycle, when we’re encouraged to evaluate what has unfolded since the previous New Moon. The Leo-Scorpio tension highlights the relationship between our desire to be recognized and the deeper transformation that comes from confronting our vulnerabilities. We may need to let go of an old identity, expectation, or emotional attachment that has outlived its purpose.
What to expect: Sunday may bring heightened emotions, meaningful realizations, or a desire to reassess a relationship or personal situation. Rather than taking things personally, consider what your reactions are revealing about your own needs and expectations.
Monday, November 2: Recognizing Old Patterns and Choosing a New Direction
The Moon remains in Leo and makes several significant connections throughout the day. Its conjunctions with Mars and Jupiter amplify enthusiasm, confidence, and the desire to take action. Mars adds courage and assertiveness, while Jupiter expands whatever it touches. Together, they can encourage us to pursue something meaningful, express ourselves more boldly, or take a risk we’ve been contemplating.
However, this combination can also magnify pride, impatience, or the tendency to act before considering the consequences. Confidence is valuable when it’s guided by wisdom; without self-awareness, it can become self-importance.
The Moon’s sextile to Venus in Libra provides an opportunity to approach relationships with warmth, diplomacy, and consideration. Even when we disagree, we can choose to communicate in ways that preserve mutual respect.
As the Moon conjuncts the South Node in Leo and opposes the North Node in Aquarius, our attention turns again to the tension between familiar patterns and future growth. We may recognize where we’ve become overly identified with our personal desires, the need for approval, or the desire to be seen as special. The evolutionary invitation is to move toward greater collaboration, objectivity, and awareness of our place within the larger human community.
The Moon’s squares to Eris and Chiron in Aries may stir feelings around independence, belonging, rejection, and the need to stand up for ourselves. Chiron represents an area of vulnerability that can become a source of wisdom and healing. Eris brings attention to what has been excluded, overlooked, or denied. Together, these influences may reveal where an old wound is still influencing how we assert ourselves or respond when we feel misunderstood.
What to expect: Monday may be emotionally charged, with strong impulses to act, speak up, or defend our position. Old insecurities may surface, particularly around recognition, independence, and acceptance. The opportunity is to distinguish between responding from an old wound and acting from a more conscious understanding of ourselves.
Tuesday, November 3: Discernment, Flexibility, and Deeper Understanding
The Moon moves into Virgo, shifting our attention from Leo’s expressive energy toward practical matters, organization, and discernment. Virgo encourages us to examine the details of our lives and identify what needs improvement. This is a helpful influence for addressing unfinished tasks, establishing healthier routines, and bringing greater order to situations that may have become overwhelming.
The Moon squares Uranus in Gemini, suggesting that our plans may be interrupted by unexpected developments or new information. We may feel restless or discover that an approach we’ve relied upon is no longer working. Rather than becoming frustrated when things don’t go as expected, consider whether a different perspective might produce a better outcome.
The Moon’s sextiles to the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio support deeper reflection and meaningful conversations. Scorpio encourages us to look beneath appearances and explore the emotional truth of a situation. Mercury in Scorpio is particularly suited to investigation, research, and conversations that get to the heart of the matter.
Together, these influences can help us recognize the difference between what appears to be happening and what is actually motivating our responses. Virgo provides the discernment to identify what needs attention, while Scorpio helps us understand the deeper emotional dynamics involved.
What to expect: Tuesday favors problem-solving, reflection, and practical adjustments. Unexpected changes may require flexibility, but they can also reveal a more effective way forward. Pay attention to what’s being uncovered rather than focusing exclusively on what needs to be fixed.
Wednesday, November 4: Expanding Relationships and Transforming Perception
Venus retrograde in Libra forms a sextile to Jupiter in Leo, creating an opportunity to reconsider what brings meaning, joy, and fulfillment into our relationships. Jupiter expands our perspective, while Venus draws our attention to love, harmony, beauty, and the values that guide our connections with others.
Because Venus is retrograde, this is less about pursuing something new for its own sake and more about recognizing what genuinely matters. We may reconnect with someone, revisit an important relationship, or gain a new appreciation for something we previously overlooked. There may also be opportunities to reconsider how generously we give and receive love.
The Sun and Mercury meet in Scorpio in a conjunction. When Mercury, the planet of communication and thought, joins the Sun, our conscious awareness becomes more closely connected to our thinking. In Scorpio, this combination encourages penetrating insight, honest conversations, and a willingness to examine truths we might otherwise avoid.
We may experience moments of clarity about a personal matter, relationship, or situation that has been difficult to understand. Something previously hidden may become more apparent, either through a conversation or through our own internal realization.
From an esoteric perspective, this is an opportunity to bring unconscious motivations into conscious awareness. Transformation begins when we’re willing to see ourselves honestly, without judgment or the need to defend an outdated version of who we are.
What to expect: Wednesday may bring meaningful conversations, renewed appreciation for relationships, or insights into matters that have been weighing on us. It’s a good day to reflect on what we truly value and whether our choices are consistent with those values.
Thursday, November 5: A Brief Opening for New Perspectives
The Moon moves into Libra, bringing attention to relationships, balance, cooperation, and the importance of seeing situations from another person’s perspective.
The Moon opposes Neptune and Saturn in Aries. This combination can create tension between our personal desires and our responsibilities to others. Neptune may blur boundaries or make it difficult to distinguish between what we hope is true and what’s actually happening. Saturn, by contrast, asks us to face reality and take responsibility for our choices. We may need to balance compassion with healthy boundaries and idealism with practical judgment.
At the same time, the Libra Moon forms a trine to Pluto in Aquarius and another trine to Uranus in Gemini. These two outer planets form a trine with one another, and the Moon briefly completes a Grand Trine in Air signs.
A Grand Trine occurs when three planets form harmonious connections with one another, creating an opportunity for their energies to work together. With all three planets in Air signs, the emphasis is on communication, ideas, intellectual understanding, and new ways of seeing the world.
Uranus encourages innovation and freedom from outdated thinking. Pluto supports profound transformation in our understanding of ourselves and our relationship to society. The Moon in Libra brings these influences into our emotional and interpersonal experiences.
This brief Grand Trine can create an opening for insight, constructive dialogue, and a different understanding of a relationship or situation. We may recognize that a problem does not necessarily require us to change another person; sometimes it requires us to change the way we perceive and approach the situation.
However, the opposition to Neptune and Saturn reminds us that insight alone is not enough. We must be willing to apply what we learn.
What to expect: Thursday may bring unexpected insights, helpful conversations, or opportunities to approach an old problem in a new way. At the same time, uncertainty or conflicting responsibilities may require us to pause before making decisions. Be receptive to new ideas while remaining grounded in reality.
Friday, November 6: Putting Understanding into Action
The Libra Moon forms a sextile to Mars in Leo, bringing an opportunity to act on the insights and realizations of the previous days.
Libra seeks cooperation and fairness, while Mars in Leo encourages courage, confidence, and self-expression. This combination can help us communicate our needs, address relationship matters, or take action toward something that reflects our personal values.
The challenge is to balance our desire to maintain harmony with our need to be authentic. Sometimes we avoid necessary conversations because we don’t want to upset someone. At other times, we express ourselves so forcefully that we overlook the feelings of others.
The evolutionary invitation is to recognize that authentic relationships require both honesty and consideration. We don’t have to sacrifice our individuality to maintain a relationship, nor do we have to diminish another person to honor ourselves.
What to expect: Friday supports constructive action, courageous communication, and finding a healthier balance between personal needs and the needs of others. It’s a good time to take a thoughtful step toward resolving something that has been under consideration.
Saturday, November 7: Revisiting Relationships and Healing Old Wounds
The week culminates with the Moon in Libra conjunct Venus retrograde. This brings the themes of relationships, personal values, and emotional reassessment into sharper focus.
The Moon represents our emotional responses and instinctive needs, while Venus represents what we value, how we love, and how we relate to others. Their conjunction during Venus retrograde may bring relationship memories, unresolved feelings, or questions about the balance of giving and receiving to the surface.
The Moon’s trine to the North Node in Aquarius and sextile to the South Node in Leo again highlight the opportunity to move beyond familiar relationship patterns. We may recognize where we have been seeking validation, holding on to expectations, or defining our worth through another person’s response to us.
The Moon’s opposition to Eris and Chiron in Aries may bring unresolved sensitivities around independence, rejection, and the right to express our individuality into awareness. We may feel challenged when someone does not agree with us or when our needs seem to conflict with those of another person.
These aspects offer an opportunity to examine how much of our relationship behavior is rooted in genuine love and how much is influenced by fear, insecurity, or the desire to be accepted.
Later, the Moon moves into Scorpio and squares Pluto in Aquarius. This creates a more emotionally intense atmosphere. Both Scorpio and Pluto are associated with deep psychological and evolutionary transformation. The square may expose underlying power dynamics, emotional attachments, or resistance to change.
We may feel compelled to confront something that has been difficult to acknowledge. Rather than attempting to control the outcome, we can use this energy to recognize what needs to change within ourselves.
What to expect: Saturday may bring important realizations about relationships, emotional needs, and personal boundaries. Old feelings may resurface, but this doesn’t necessarily mean we need to revisit the past or recreate an old situation. Sometimes the purpose of remembering is to understand, release, and move forward differently.
The larger message of the week is that our evolution depends not only on what happens to us, but on how consciously we respond. We are continually given opportunities to move beyond the limitations of the personality and express the deeper wisdom of the soul.

Action Steps for the Week:
The planetary energies this week invite us to become more conscious of the connection between our inner world and our outer experiences. As old emotional patterns and relationship dynamics come into awareness, we have an opportunity to respond differently rather than automatically repeating familiar behaviors. From an esoteric perspective, transformation occurs when we bring greater awareness to our thoughts, feelings, motivations, and actions. The goal isn’t to control every circumstance, but to use our experiences as opportunities to become more aligned with the wisdom of the soul. Consider the following practices as ways to work consciously with this week’s energies.
- Examine What Is Driving Your Reactions.
When you feel defensive, frustrated, overlooked, or misunderstood, pause before responding. Ask yourself: Is my reaction coming from what’s happening now, or is an old emotional wound being activated? Recognizing the difference allows you to respond to the present rather than unconsciously reliving the past.
- Reconsider What You Value in Your Relationships.
With Venus retrograde in Libra, take time to examine the quality of your relationships. Are they based on mutual respect, honesty, and shared growth? Are you giving more than you receive, or expecting others to fulfill needs that you have not acknowledged within yourself? Consider what a healthy, soul-centered relationship looks like to you.
- Release the Need for External Validation.
The repeated Leo-Aquarius nodal connections invite us to move beyond defining our worth through recognition, approval, or the attention of others. Notice when you’re seeking confirmation that you are important, appreciated, or accepted. Practice finding a sense of worth that comes from living in alignment with your values rather than depending on how others respond to you.
- Be Willing to Look Beneath the Surface.
The Scorpio influences encourage honest self-examination. Instead of focusing only on what someone said or did, consider the deeper motivations behind your own responses. Ask yourself: What am I afraid of losing? What am I trying to protect? What truth might I be avoiding? Self-awareness is the beginning of transformation.
- Practice Flexibility When Life Interrupts Your Plans.
Unexpected changes can sometimes reveal possibilities we would not have considered otherwise. When something does not go according to plan, resist the temptation to immediately label it a setback. Step back, look at the situation objectively, and consider whether a different approach might serve you better.
- Balance Compassion with Healthy Boundaries.
Compassion doesn’t mean accepting behavior that compromises your well-being. Nor does maintaining boundaries require withdrawing love or understanding. Practice being kind without abandoning yourself, and be honest without diminishing another person. True harmony begins with mutual respect.
- Turn Insight into Conscious Action.
Awareness alone does not create lasting change. When you recognize an old pattern, choose one small action that reflects the person you’re becoming. It might be having an honest conversation, establishing a boundary, releasing an expectation, or approaching a familiar situation in a new way. Let your actions demonstrate your growth.
- Make Time for Reflection and Inner Listening.
Set aside a few quiet moments each day to observe your thoughts and feelings without immediately judging or acting on them. Meditation, journaling, or simply spending time in silence can help you distinguish between the reactive voice of the personality and the deeper wisdom of the soul. Ask yourself: What is this experience teaching me about who I am becoming?
A Question to Carry Throughout the Week:
Where in my life am I being asked to release an old way of thinking, relating, or responding so that I can live more fully from the wisdom of my soul?
Remember, evolution isn’t about becoming someone entirely different. It’s about gradually removing the patterns, beliefs, and fears that prevent us from expressing the deeper truth of who we are. Each conscious choice brings us closer to living from the soul rather than simply reacting from the personality.
